Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is a coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, Spain, in the comarques of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and La Selva, in the province of Girona. Costa is the Catalan and Spanish word for 'coast', and Brava means 'rugged' or 'wild'. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, 60km northeast of Barcelona, to the French border.

Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is situated in the southern part of the Costa Brava, 70 Km away from Barcelona. This former fishermans village covers 48 square kilometres, and has five main beaches  along a 7 Km of coastline. Its beaches have been awarded the blue flag by the EEC, bearing witness to the perfect state of beaches  in terms of quality of the water, sand and services provided.

Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar is located on the South part of the Costa Brava. South of Tossa is Lloret, a town that attracts a massive tourism. Lloret visitors get what they want: beaches, parties and cheap accommodation. Tossa de Mar is also known as the "Flower of the Sea", because of its beauty.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols

This is one of those towns that don't die in winter. The seafront is attractive throughout the year. The town has good shopping, and a thriving local life. Although it is quite hard to put one's figure on why it is appealing, it is, and there is a considerable amount of property that has already been bought by non-Spaniards - many of them long-term residents of the town and surroundings. Property prices are modest compared to a little further north and this is a town that we can recommend.

Blanes

Blanes is located in the Spanish region of Catalonia on the Costa Brava. The resort is popular with Spanish holidaymakers and also attracts international tourists due to its location just 60 kilometres north of Barcelona airport. Its a quieter and altogether more relaxing holiday destination than its lively neighbour Lloret de Mar. Teenagers may find it a little dull but for families and couples seeking an easy going "sea, sun and sand" holiday, Blanes has much to offer.
